Last year's G2 Norfolk S. winner The Lir Jet (Ire) (Prince Of Lir {Ire}) is among the first group of horses signed on for RacehorseClub, a microshare ownership group that allows investors to get in the game for a small one-time fee.

Also among the first RacehorseClub flagbearers are Grand National contenders Potters Corner (Ire) (Indian Danehill {Ire}) and Balko Des Flos (Fr) (Balko {Fr}). The current share prices are £75 for Potters Corner; £80 for Balko Des Flos; and £84 for The Lir Jet.

Max Pimlott, RacehorseClub's Racing Manager, said, “RacehorseClub is the future of racehorse ownership. We are offering the general public the opportunity to become members in top-class horses both on the flat and over jumps. Members will receive all the usual ownership benefits as well as a whole lot more. Simply select your horse and become a member today, with a one-off fee and no recurring costs for the rest of the horse's career. RacehorseClub is inclusive and we welcome absolutely everyone to come and join us on this hugely exciting journey.”

ITV Racing's Ed Chamberlin is an official ambassador to RacehorseClub alongside dual champion flat jockey Oisin Murphy, and he said, “I am passionate about making horseracing as accessible and enjoyable to as many people as possible and am delighted to be involved with RacehorseClub which gives fans an opportunity like no other. To be involved with top-class horses set to compete in the biggest races on a global stage is a unique opportunity. I'm looking forward to meeting future RacehorseClub members at the races and numerous club events.”

Michael Bell, trainer of The Lir Jet, said, “It's great that RacehorseClub have joined the ownership ranks to give more people the opportunity to get involved in owning top-class racehorses. I'm sure it will be a great success. The Lir Jet was one of last year's top 2-year-olds and looks an exciting prospect for this year. All being well, we will start him off in the Free Handicap at Newmarket's Craven Meeting in a couple of weeks' time and then plans for the rest of the season will unfold thereafter.”
